The timeline varies depending on the complexity of your situation and how quickly both parties can meet. Simple matters may be resolved in 2-3 sessions over several weeks, while more complex cases involving property division and parenting arrangements may take several months. Unlike litigation, which can take years, mediation moves at your pace and can be scheduled around your availability.

Yes. Everything discussed in mediation is confidential and cannot be used in court if you don’t reach an agreement. This confidentiality creates a safe space for honest dialogue and creative problem-solving. The only exceptions are situations involving child safety or where disclosure is required by law.

Not every mediation ends with a complete agreement, and that’s okay. At TMHC Mediation, we’ll work with you to discuss the most appropriate next steps through alternative dispute resolution and aftercare options. If mediation doesn’t resolve every issue, you’ll receive a personalized resource package outlining your available options so you can move forward with confidence. No matter the outcome, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Mediation is significantly more affordable than litigation. We offer transparent hourly rates and will discuss costs during your initial consultation. While you don’t need a lawyer present during mediation sessions, it’s recommended that you consult with a lawyer before finalizing any agreement.
